In between their hygiene appointments, 1 in 4 of your patients are struggling not to die while they sleep. Fight or flight. Again and again. All night long.
The ADA says dentists should actively screen their patients for sleep disordered breathing (SDB) and numerous surveys have shown that Dental Sleep Medicine is one of the most rapidly growing areas of dentistry. It provides clinicians with a unique opportunity to provide treatment that can save lives while also being wildly rewarding - both personally and financially.
If this is such a great opportunity, why isn't every dentist doing it and what do you need to know to do it properly?
During this session, Michael Cowen and Chad Wooters will share their 20 years of experience in the sleep field with attendees.
You'll learn the following:
Identify patients in your practice at risk for SDB
Find your "WHY" & help your team find theirs
Avoid the hurdles and stumbling blocks that cause other practices to fail
Determine the best pathway for sleep testing in your practice
Understand the various treatment options with an emphasis on Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT)
Present OAT with confidence and boost case acceptance
Develop sleep into the most profitable procedure in your practice
Know the pros and cons of medical billing vs fee-for-service for sleep treatment
Your patients need your help. This course is the next step toward better days and better nights.

Michael Cowen, CEO & Founder of Awaken2Sleep, started his journey in sleep medicine in 2003 performing in-lab sleep studies as a classically-trained pediatric sleep technician at Loma Linda Children's Hospital in Southern California. Five years later, this training and experience empowered him to save his infant daughter's life from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a leading cause of SIDS in infants. After recognizing his calling to passionately assist others to help their own patients, Mr. Cowen went on to become an expert in the Business of Sleep Medicine, building and developing a network of sleep centers/DME companies across the United States. Additionally, Mr. Cowen assisted with the development of newly-patented CPAP technology at the start of the decade. After spending 8 years in the sleep medicine field, Mr. Cowen identified the dental market as the largest segment for growth in the awareness of OSA. In 2015, seeing an opportunity to bring testing and awareness to the forefront, he founded Awaken2Sleep, a company whose vision is to empower dental providers and their teams to treat patients with sleep apnea.
