QUIZ FOR CE CREDIT VERIFICATION: At the conclusion of the webinar, attendees will be redirected to complete a quiz for CE credit. An 80% minimum passing score is required, multiple attempts are permitted, and attendees have 7 days to successfully complete the quiz for CE credit.

COURSE SUMMARY:  Dental clinicians are uniquely positioned as resources for their patients addicted to nicotine products that may lead to morbidity/mortality, poor treatment outcomes. Dental Boards are now disciplining dental clinicians for failure to refer these patients to resources and provide counseling. This webinar will discuss the role of the dental clinician and tobacco cessation in their patients.

Dr. Kirsten Roling, DDS is the Chief Education Officer, Dental CE Academy. She completed dental school training at the University of California, San Francisco; during the height of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic. Dr. Roling is credited as an early pioneer of Teledentistry. Her clinical practice spans pediatrics to geriatrics. Previously an Assistant Clinical Professor, UCSF; and Public Health Preceptor, Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Dr. Roling also held the position as Chief for the Office of Oral Health, Maricopa County, Department of Public Health where she administed the nation's largest pediatric oral health prevention programs for the third largest U.S. public health department. As a mobile dental provider, she commanded a large teledentistry practice to treat homebound geriatric patients. She is a recipient of the Pediatric Oral Health Access Program (POHAP) scholarship and provided dental services pro bono to at risk infants and foster children. She has completed certification through the American Dental Education Association in conjunction with the Academy of Academy Leadership and Institute for Allied Health Educators "Advances in Educational Methodology." In 2017 she was published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry, and in 2018 interviewed on National Public Radio.
