COURSE SUMMARY:  

Tooth Adornment has existed for nearly 5000 years from antiquity to today's pop culture. Learn how the mouth has

symbolically represented power, marriage, status, grief since times of antiquity and to the modern age. 

This continuing education webinar will assess the history of tooth adornment in dentistry, evidence based studies, and the ways dentistry has aligned with growing trends in the area of ceramics, dental "enhancements" such as "bling", patient preferences and indications.

About the Speaker: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Kirsten Roling, DDS is the Chief Education Officer for Dental CE Academy administered by Virtual Dontics®. She completed dental school training at the University of California, San Francisco; during the height of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic. Dr. Roling is credited as an early pioneer of Teledentistry. Her clinical practice spans pediatrics to geriatrics. Previously an Assistant Clinical Professor, UCSF; and Public Health Preceptor, Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Dr. Roling also held the position as Chief for the Office of Oral Health, Maricopa County, Department of Public Health where she administed the nation's largest pediatric oral health prevention programs for the third largest U.S. public health department. As a mobile dental provider, she commanded a large teledentistry practice to treat homebound geriatric patients. She is a recipient of the Pediatric Oral Health Access Program (POHAP) scholarship and provided dental services pro bono to at risk infants and foster children. She has completed certification through the American Dental Education Association in conjunction with the Academy of Academy Leadership and Institute for Allied Health Educators "Advances in Educational Methodology." In 2017 she was published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry, and in 2018 interviewed on National Public Radio.
