DESCRIPTION: Healthcare providers face challenges when reducing oral disease burden to enhance whole-body health. Shared provider knowledge of existing research incorporated into patient education and care plans fosters awareness of options and subsequent actions that may reduce negative health consequences. Growing evidence of the oral-systemic impact fuels the urgency to actively engage patients, as well as the inter-professional community in solution-oriented directions.
